KTF East 2016
KTF East 2016 - If you have attended KTF over the last 5 years, you will find the process for attending this year and cost quite different. We will have staff positions, student positions, VIPs and vendors this year (planning to date).
At this moment, we are looking at 50 students maximum. We will have less than 20 KTF Staff positions and Oak Grove VFD is sponsoring KTF with their resources (Thank you Chief Davis and team). Our sponsoring college is Cleveland Community College.
Cleveland Community College will provide Continued Education Credit for completed participation.
The Command Post is Oak Grove VFD at 838 Oak Grove Road, Kings Mountain NC, 28086
Command Post will open Monday October 24th at 0800 hours.

Closest hotels should be in Shelby NC and Kings Mountain NC. KTF does not have a block of rooms this year. I will post a list of the hotels that are expecting our members.
Update: We now have a block of rooms at Holiday Inn Express Shelby for $83.00 a night.
The hotels are approximately 10 minutes from Oak Grove VFD. There are restaurants and shopping near the hotels. A general map in in the gallery photos below.

The closest airport is Charlotte International airport NC and the next closest is Greenville-Spartanburg SC airport. The Charlote Airport is approximately 40 miles from the Command Post. A general map for Charlotte Airport to the Command Post is attached in the gallery photos below.
Classes for students are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday classes, 8 am to 5 PM. Online registration will be announced September 12th at 1100 hours EST. Students should arrive at Oak Grove VFD each day at 0730 hours for registration. Classes begin at 0800 hours. Students will attend the test burns in the afternoon with a KTF Craftsman facilitator. Transportation to the burn site will be organized each day in the classroom.
KTF Staff positions from out of town should plan to be at the Command Post no later than 12 noon Monday October 24Th. The earliest departure arrangements should be on Friday October 28th.
KTF Staff should bring PPE (Helmet, Coat, Pants, boots, gloves, hood (2), flashlight,
KTF Staff positions will be chosen from applications sent to KTF. I will post the application for staff positions the week of the 12th of September.
All Staff positions selected must be a certified FFII with a minimum of 2 years experience in an organized governmental affiliated fire department with a letter from their Chief Officer authorizing their attendance for learning with working compensation insurance from their agency.
Cost of attending KTF East is $150.00. for society members.
All out of state participants will be required to pay the State of NC an additional $70 fee.
Each attendee will receive a KTF Textbook, T-shirt, lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only. Attendee is responsible for all individual expenses outside of these listed.
KTF endeavors to keep cost as minimum as possible.
